Happy chicks

From the pleasure of experiencing happy clucking when raising children

The Happy Huhn Küken book closes a gap in the German technical literature, which until now has mainly produced guidebooks about "incubator brooding".  Today, 95 percent of all chickens in the world come from incubator brooding - they were hatched by machines.

This book focuses on natural brood - i.e. the natural rearing of chicks - and the reader is given assistance in caring for rearing chicken mothers and their offspring in their own gardens. This guide delves deeply into the subject of chicken breeding and is therefore especially aimed at advanced chicken farmers who already have some experience in dealing with the dear poultry. Chick rearing always requires conscientiousness and "know how" on the part of the keeper. At least in case of "missing Know How", this book can be the rescue! Questions such as "How to take care of a breeding mother hen", "What do the chicks need on their first day of life", "What to do when the chicks are sick", "How to integrate the mother hen and the chicks with the rest of the flock", "Does the cock play a role in chick rearing?", or "Which breeds of chick produce good mothers? In the foreground is the welfare of the chicks, because the goal of a successful brood should ultimately be to have healthy young hens and young cocks. A mother hen is virtually the epitome of a self-sacrificing animal mother and there is hardly anything more beautiful than accompanying chicks with their chicken mommy for many weeks.

The philosophy behind this book is taken from the well-known YouTube series "Happy Huhn", which with more than 170 episodes inspires over 300,000 chicken lovers throughout the German-speaking world.
